We're here to support cats and kittens in Southampton, covering postcodes: SO14, SO15, SO16, SO17, SO18, SO19, SO30, SO31, SO40, SO41. SO42, SO43, SO45, SO50, SO52, SO53, PO14, PO15, PO16, PO17.

Run by a small team of dedicated, cat-loving volunteers, we're passionate about improving the lives of cats and kittens in Southampton, working to find loving new homes for local cats in our care, and lost and found cats, as well as general education and awareness within the Southampton area. Cat adoption in Southampton

Could you provide a loving new home for a cat in Southampton? During the process of adopting a cat from us, we’ll consider everything from your potential pet’s personality and how this fits with your lifestyle, to your home environment – creating the perfect match for both cat and owner and the start of a wonderful feline friendship.

We ask an adoption fee of £100 for an adult cat (6 months and over) and £120 for a kitten (6 months or under).  If you wish to make a further donation, to help us with other cat care work, this will be very welcome. Please note, all monies are by bank transfer.



Please note; as we want each cat to be in their new home as soon as possible we will only reserve them for a maximum period of seven days. If you are in rented accommodation and need landlords permission please have this in place before you apply.

Volunteer at Cats Protection Southampton Branch

Without volunteers, Southampton Branch simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

We're often looking to welcome new volunteers to join our brilliant team. Trap, Neuter and Return (TNR) Volunteer

Unfortunately thousands of cats each year are abandoned or have strayed and rely on charities like Cats Protection for help. Becoming a TNR volunteer is one way you can make a real difference to cats in your local area. Our TNR volunteers help reduce the number of feral cats by raising awareness of our TNR programmes, setting humane traps to safely capture cats, taking them to local vets to be neutered, and hopefully returning them back to their territory.
